Margaret Mansfield
Margaret Mansfield and her three older siblings were part of the heroic, civic-minded Republican Generation. Her husband, her three younger siblings, and her son were part of the adaptive Compromise Generation. Her parents were part of the nomadic, reactive Liberty Generation.
Margaret must have spent at least part of her growing years at the Mansfield house in Saugus, which was one of the oldest homes in America. The home was a popular stopping place for travelers, who accepted the Mansfield hospitality.

Margaret's father--and her grandfather Mansfield (who had been killed in an accident before Margaret's birth)--operated a clothier's shop, a fulling mill, a dye house, a vault house for storing winter vegetables, a grist mill, and a cider mill there.
Margaret's father and two of her uncles (her father's brothers) fought the British in the Revolutionary War.

Benjamin Wilson II, 1767-1843(1)
The 1843 death date for Benjamin Wilson II comes from cousin Nancy B. Edmands Allen (our cousin through Artemas Seymour Edmands and his second son, Edward Wesley Edmands). Cousin
(our cousin through Artemas Seymour Edmands and his eldest son, Arthur Seymour Edmands) has challenged that date with the statement in correspondence with me: "For some reason I have that Benj. who died Saugus 8-19-1844 [1843?] is not ours?? . . . All I wrote was 'not ours' on the record, didn't write why." This needs further investigation. There are many good reasons to challenge Nancy's data.
